Hello Signal Arts Centre Blog Afficionados March 21,2010

I am bringing you some visual news from Largo, Florida.  I attended a terrific exhibition of the prints of Henri Matisse at the new Tampa Museum of Modern Art.  Here are a few pics.

These prints, lift aquatints were done later in his career in the 1940's.

Matisse used many techniques in printmaking:  relief using lithography, linoleum, woodcut; intaglio using engraving, etching in drypoint, aquatint and chine colle.

Matisse print from woodcut.
